Craig Ehlo

Craig Ehlo is a former NBA player who is well known for his time playing beside Michael Jordan. Ehlo grew up loving the sport of basketball in the state of Texas throughout the 1960’s and ‘70’s. He split his college career between two different schools, Odessa College and Washington State, and he ultimately graduated from Washington State to enter the NBA Draft that same year. Ehlo was picked in the third round of the 1983 Draft by the Houston Rockets. His professional career lasted over fourteen years and was dispersed between playing for the Rockets, the Mississippi Jets of the CBA League, the Cleveland Cavaliers, Atlanta Hawks, and Seattle SuperSonics from 1983 until 1997. While playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Ehlo is widely recognized for scoring 24 points in the game where Michael Jordan made The Shot. He is also remembered for playing alongside Gary Payton, a well-known elite point guard on the Seattle SuperSonics. Ehlo’s own accomplishments have not gone unrecognized, however, as he scored well over 7,000 points and obtained more than 3,000 rebounds throughout his professional career as a shooting guard. Since retirement in 1997, Ehlo has worked as an analyst and also went on to coach at Eastern Washington University for some time.
