About Cole Kmet
Cole Kmet is an NFL tight end for the Chicago Bears. Hailing from Barrington, Illinois, he played college football at Notre Dame, where he also played baseball. He was drafted by the Bears in the second round (43rd overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft. Kmet has become a reliable contributor, known for his versatility in blocking and receiving.
Over five seasons, he's recorded 258 receptions for 2,592 yards and 19 touchdowns in 84 games. In 2024, he had 47 catches for 474 yards and four touchdowns and notably served as an emergency long snapper, earning NFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors. He signed a four-year, $50 million contract extension with the Bears in 2023.
Kmet comes from an athletic familyâhis father, Frank, and uncle, Jeff Zgonina played in the NFL, and his brothers, Casey and Cooper, are also athletes.
