Drawing comparisons to MLB legend Sandy Koufax, left-hander Clayton Kershaw spent his entire career with the Los Angeles Dodgers after being selected in the 2006 MLB Draft. Following a high school career that earned him USA Today's Baseball Player of the Year and baseball's Gatorade National Player of the Year, Kershaw passed on his scholarship to Texas A&M when he was drafted with the seventh overall pick.
After just one full season in the minors, the then 20-year-old Kershaw was called up to the bigs, making him the youngest player in the MLB. After decent seasons to start his career, Kershaw broke through in the 2011 season, leading the National League with 21 wins, 248 strikeouts, and a 2.28 ERA, earning him the pitching Triple Crown.
