About Clarissa Chun
Clarissa Chun had a standout career in competition, which included participating in two Olympics. After Chun fell just shy of the Olympic medal podium in 2008, she won gold in the 48 kg division at the World Championships. Then, in 2012, she captured a bronze medal at the Olympics. Chun was also a four-time U.S. Open champion. Later on, Chun transitioned to coaching, becoming an assistant for the U.S. national team. In 2021, she was named the first-ever coach of the University of Iowa women's wrestling program. For her tremendous tenure in the sport, Chun has been named to the Hawaii Sports Hall of Fame and the Wrestling Hall of Fame.
