About Chris Chambliss
Chris Chambliss had a four-decade career in baseball and is one of the most beloved New York Yankees of all-time. Chambliss got an All-Star bid with the Yankees in 1976 and went on to help the team win the World Series in 1977 and 1978. Despite his championships pedigree, he is more known for heroics in the 1976 ALCS. Chambliss hit .524 in the series and blasted a game-winning home run in the deciding Game 5 against the Kansas City Royals. The Cleveland Indians originally made him the number on overall pick in 1970 and a year later he would win the AL Rookie of the Year award. Following his playing career, Chambliss dove headfirst into the coaching profession. He got to take part in another great period of Yankee history, winning four World Series titles in the 1990s as the hitting coach. Chambliss last coached in the MLB for the Seattle Mariners in 2012.
