About Chris Carmichael
Chris Carmichael is a legend in the cycling community, first as a cyclist but more recently as a coach. In his cycling career, Carmichael was a member of the U.S. National Team from 1978-1984 and competed in the 1984 Olympic Games. He also helped make history in 1986 as a part of the first U.S. team to compete in the Tour de France as a member of the 7-Eleven Cycling Team. Following his cycling career, Carmichael looked to spread his knowledge of the sport to other, younger riders. One of those riders that he coached, lance Armstrong, went on to be the most successful cyclist in the history of the sport. The athletes that he has coached compiled 33 medals in Olympics, World Championships, and Pan American Games. After being named Coach of the year in 1999, Carmichael started Carmichael Training Systems in 2000 to make his world-class training more accessible to athletes of all levels.
