Carson Palmer

Carson Palmer is a professional quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals of the NFL. Palmer attended the University of Southern California where he played on the Trojans football team from 1999-2002. Palmer originally was the backup quarterback at USC, but when Mike Van Raaphorst proved to be ineffective, Palmer received the starting job. In 2002, Palmer was the Heisman Trophy winner and the first Trojan quarterback to be honored with it. The Cincinnati Bengals selected Palmer as the first round pick in the 2003 NFL Draft and he did not play his rookie season. Palmer made his NFL debut in week 1 of the 2004 season against the New York Jets. Palmer was traded to the Oakland Raiders in 2001 where he spent two years. On April 2, 2013, Palmer was traded to the Arizona Cardinals. He signed a three-year contract extension with the Cardinals on November 7, 2014, and just two days later he re-tore his ACL. He underwent surgery and the doctors removed the donated Achilles tendon from his knee and replaced it with his own patellar tendon.
