About Brian Vickers
Brian Vickers is a professional racecar driver who currently competes in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in the #55 car for Michael Waltrip Racing. Like most other NASCAR drivers, Vickers started racing go karts at a young age, eventually making his way up to the NASCAR Busch Series for his father’s team. In 2003, Vickers got his big break, as he was selected to race the #5 Hendrick Motorsports Busch Series car. That season, Vickers won three races, and made his Sprint Cup debut that same year. In 2004, Vickers was promoted to the Sprint Cup as a full time driver, racing the Hendrick Motorsports #25 car, finishing third in rookie of the year voting. 2006 was Vickers last season with Hendrick, but he won his first race, winning the UAW Ford 500 after a controversial last lap collision between him and teammate Jimmie Johnson. The next season, Vickers joined Red Bull Racing, competing in the #83 car, remaining with the team until the 2011 season after Red Bull Racing folded. For the next few years, Vickers raced part time at Michael Waltrip racing, eventually winning a full time ride for the 2014 season. In ten years in Sprint Cup action, Vickers has won three races, with his most recent coming in 2013.
