About Brian MacLellan
Brian MacLellan is the general manager of the Washington Capitals. He worked his way through the organization prior to being named GM in 2014. MacLellan worked his way up from being a pro scout to director of player personnel and finally assistant general manager. In Washington, he worked under his college teammate at Bowling Green State University, George McPhee. MacLellan played for five different franchises. He originally came up with the Los Angeles Kings. In 1985, MacLellan finished the season with 31 goals and 54 assists. He went on to play for the New York Rangers and scored a career-high 32 goals with the Minnesota North Stars in 1987. MacLellan was traded to the Calgary Flames midway through the 1988-89 season and helped them win the Stanley Cup. He finished his playing career with the Detroit Red Wings in 1992.
