About Brian Grant
Brian Grant is a former power forward who spent 12 seasons in the NBA. He was a two-time Horizon League Player of the Year at Xavier University. He left as the school's second all-time leading scorer and third in career rebounding. Grant is a member of the Xavier Athletic Hall of Fame and has his jersey retired by the basketball program. After a standout college career, the Sacramento Kings selected him with the eighth overall pick in the 1994 NBA Draft. He averaged 13.2 points and 7.5 rebounds in his first year and was named to the NBA All-Rookie Team. Grant spent the first three seasons of his career with the Kings before joining the Portland Trail Blazers in free agency. He was a key role player for a Portland team that made it to the Western Conference Finals for two straight seasons. Grant went on to sign with the Miami Heat in 2000. In his first year in Miami, he had a career year, averaging 15.2 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. Grant ended his career playing with the Los Angeles Lakers and the Phoenix Suns.
