Brandon Jacobs

Brandon Jacobs is a retired NFL running back who played in nine seasons in the league with the New York Giants and the San Francisco 49ers. Prior to his time in the NFL, Jacobs played collegiately first at Coffeyville Community College, where he would win numerous awards including a JUCO All-American nod in his two seasons at CCC. Jacobs went on to continue his college career at Auburn University, serving in a third string role behind future first round picks Ronnie Brown and Cadillac Williams. Due to lack of playing time, Jacobs transferred again, this time to Southern Illinois University. In one season at SIU, Jacobs racked up 992 yards and 19 touchdowns on 150 carries. Following his graduation, Jacobs was drafted in the fourth round of the 2005 NFL Draft by the New York Giants. Running behind Tiki Barber, Jacobs would become one of the Giants’ all-time leading rushers, scoring 60 touchdowns, a Giants’ record. His play would be key to the Giants two Super Bowl victories in 2007 and 2011, but conflicts within the organization would lead to his release in 2012, prompting him to sign with the San Francisco 49ers. One year later, Jacobs returned to the Giants, and retired after the 2013 season after amassing 5,094 yards and 60 touchdowns over his nine year career.
