Brady Ellison

Brady Ellison stands as a prominent American Olympic archer who achieved remarkable success in recurve archery competitions. Brady Ellison was born on October 27, 1988 in Glendale Arizona and grew up in Globe Arizona where his family maintained ranching traditions. His family traditions of hunting and archery introduced him to the skills which would become the basis of his future success. The competitive archery path started for Ellison in 2002 when he joined 3D tournaments before moving to target archery in 2003. He rapidly rose through the competition levels to join the U.S. Junior World Championship team in 2004 while winning gold medals in both individual and team competitions at the 2005 Indoor World Championships.

The United States Olympic Games have seen Ellison compete in five events starting from Beijing 2008 through London 2012 and Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024. The Olympic Games have awarded him silver medals for team events at London and Rio while he received bronze in the individual event at Rio and silver in the mixed team event at Paris 2024. At the 2024 Paris Olympics he lost the men's individual gold medal to South Korean archer Kim Woo-jin in a tense shoot-off.

Ellison made history for American recurve archery by becoming the first athlete to win an individual world title since 1985 at the World Archery Championships. At the 2022 Vegas Shoot he won gold in the men's recurve competition while earning silver medals at The World Games during 2013, 2017 and 2022.
