Billy Butler

Billy Butler is one of baseball’s best-known power hitters. Butler spent the first eight years of his career with the Kansas City Royals. In his final season, the Royals made it to the World Series, losing to the San Francisco Giants in dramatic seven game set. Butler’s best season came in 2012, when he hit .313 with 29 home runs and 107 RBI. That season he was named to the All-Star team and won a Silver Slugger Award. Butler was a first round pick of the Royals in 2004 and debuted in the big leagues in 2007. As a minor leaguer, he was the organization’s Player of the Year in 2005 and MVP of the MLB Futures Game in 2006. He just signed a three-year contract with the Oakland A’s in 2014 and now serves as the team’s regular designated hitter. While in Kansas City, Butler was very engaged in charitable efforts through his Hit It A Ton foundation and signature barbeque sauce.
