About BenJarvus Green Ellis
BenJarvus Green-Ellis signed with the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2008 out of the University of Mississippi. Prior to playing at Ole Miss he starred as a two-sport letterman in football and track at St. Augustine High School in New Orleans. After earning All-District and All-Region honors in both sports he signed a scholarship to play at Indiana University. As a freshman he rushed for 938 yards and seven touchdowns for the Hoosiers and then followed up that performance with 794 yards and five touchdowns as a sophomore in 2005. In 2006 he transferred to the University of Mississippi and posted back-to-back 1,000 yard rushing seasons in route to earning All-SEC honors both seasons. After signing with the Patriots in 2008 he played three seasons in Indianapolis before landing with the Cincinnati Bengals from 2012 to 2013. Over that span he posted the longest streak of carries to start an NFL career without a fumble with 589. During his six seasons in the league he rushed for 3,914 yards and 42 touchdowns.
