About Ben Tate
Ben Tate set the Maryland state single-season rushing record with 2,886 yards and 25 touchdowns during his junior season at Stephen Decatur High School. The following year he transferred to Snow Hill High School and rushed for 2,069 yards and 21 touchdowns and helped his team to a runner-up performance in the state championship. After setting Maryland state records with 5,920 career rushing yards and 6,123 career offensive yards he earned Gatorade State Player of the Year honors and signed on to play at Auburn University. While at Auburn he rushed for 3,321 career yards and 24 touchdowns, with 1,362 yards and 10 touchdowns coming during his senior year. After earning his undergraduate degree in criminology he was selected in the 2nd round with the 58th overall pick by the Houston Texans in the 2010 NFL Draft. Tate spent his first three seasons in Houston before heading to the Cleveland Browns and Minnesota Vikings for one season. He also played for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
