About Ben Bishop
Ben Bishop is a goaltender for the Dallas Stars who has had tremendous success in his career. Bishop is best known for his time with the Tampa Bay Lightning from 2012-17. He became the team's starting goaltender during his second year. In 2015, Bishop was one of the top stars in the playoffs and helped the Lightning reach the Stanley Cup Final. He became just the third goaltender to post two Game 7 shutouts in one playoffs. After a great start to the following season, Bishop was named an All-Star for the first time. That year, he finished as a runner-up for the Vezina Trophy and was named to the NHL Second All-Star Team. Before being traded to the Los Angeles Kings at the trade deadline in 2017, Bishop set several Tampa Bay franchise goaltending records, including wins, saves, shutouts and games played. In 2019 with the Stars, he was again named to the NHL All-Star Second Team. At 6'7", Bishop holds the unique distinction along with Mikko Koskinen of being the tallest goaltenders in NHL history.
