Anthony Calvillo Biography

Anthony Calvillo may be the most storied player in the history of the Canadian Football League. Calvillo threw for 79,816 yards in the CFL, the most in professional football history. He was a three-time Grey Cup Champion and a three-time CFL Most Outstanding Player. In his early days in the league, Calvillo played for the Las Vegas Posse and Hamilton Tiger-Cats, but he is best known for his 16 seasons with the Montreal Alouettes. His #13 jersey is retired by the Alouettes. Calvillo played collegiately at Utah State. In his senior season, he set a school record for total offense and led the Aggies to the Big West Conference title and their first bowl win. Calvillo is a Los Angeles, California native, but now resides in Montreal. He wants to get into coaching and remains active in the community. Calvillo does a significant amount of work with cancer charities after his wife Alexia was diagnosed and treated for B-cell lymphoma.
