About Andy Avalos
Andy Avalos is the current defensive coordinator for TCU football. Avalos previously served as the head coach at his alma mater, Boise State, for three years. He went 22-14, including a 10-4 season in 2022 where he won Mountain West Conference Coach of the Year honors.
Avalos returned to Boise after a two-year stint as the defensive coordinator at Oregon. Avalos also rose to the coordinator role for the Broncos at the end of his seven-year tenure as an assistant for the program. He originally began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Colorado before stints at Nebraska-Kearney and Sacramento State. Avalos had a productive playing career at Boise, leaving the team in tackles for three straight seasons and finishing in the top five in school history for that category.
