About Amy Purdy
There is not much in life that Amy Purdy has not tackled at full force. Purdy was a 2014 Paralympic bronze medalist in Snowboard Cross. At 19 years old, she had an infection that led to septic shock and the eventual amputation of both legs below the knee. While only given a two percent chance to live, Purdy battled through it to become a successful athlete, businesswoman, and speaker. She is a spokesperson for the Challenged Athletes Foundation and has founded a non-profit called Adaptive Action Sports. Her fame led to appearances on the 21st season of The Amazing Race and 18th season of Dancing With the Stars. Purdy has an extensive list of corporate partnerships with companies like Toyota and Pfizer. In 2014, her memoir, On My Own Two Feet: From Losing My Legs to Learning the Dance of Life was released.
