Albert Pujols Biography

Albert Pujols is rounding home on a career that will land him in the Baseball Hall of Fame on the first ballot upon retirement.  Pujols now plays for the Los Angeles Dodgers, but built most of his legendary career with the St. Louis Cardinals and Los Angeles Angels.  He is a three-time National League MVP, ten-time All-Star, and two-time World Series champion. Pujols has milestone hitting marks of over 500 home runs and 3,000 hits. In addition to being one of the best hitters in league history, he has also won two Gold Gloves for his first base defense. After a decade in St. Louis, Pujols signed a 10-year, $210 million contract with the Angels in 2012 and played with the club until his final year of the deal. His impact continues off the field with the Pujols Family Foundation that supports people with Down syndrome and gives to the poor in the Dominican Republic. His stepdaughter suffers from Down syndrome. The Pujols family is devout Christians.
