Women’s Basketball Legend Cheryl Miller Named Pac-12 Player of the Century

While some may forget, Cheryl Miller was a pioneer in women's sports.  Her illustrious college basktball career was honored this week with Miller being named Pac-12 Player of the Century by the conference.

The voting body comprised of 61 people who are either media, Pac-12 staff, coaches, or players voted on the honor and the overall All-Century Team.  Each person on the panel selected 12 players and that was then weighted to come up with the results. 

Miller played at the University of Southern California and five other former Trojans also made the All-Century Team.  In total, the squad is made up of eight guards and 12 forwards/centers.  

Miller was a four-time All-American and three-time National Player of the Year at USC.  Her carere point and rebound totals still place her top ten in NCAA history.

Notching over 3,000 carerer points, Miller averaged 22.3 points per game. Outside of her collegiate career, she won an Olympic gold medal in 1984. 

Miller is a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame.  She gained populiarity after her playing career as a broadcaster and is currently the head women's basketball coach at Langston University.
