Washington Redskins Legend Pat Fischer Attends Book Signing

One Washington Redskins retired great made an appearance on Tuesday at a book signing that benefited the local community.  Former cornerback Pat Fischer was on hand as three local authors signed their sports related books in Ashburn, Virginia.

The signing was held at the Redskins-themed restaurant, Hail & Hog, from 5-7 p.m.  Proceeds from the event went to Glory Days Live, a non-profit that helps raise money and give equipment to help underprivileged kids play sports.

In addition to the signing, a silent auction and raffle helped raise money for the charity.  One of the books featured at the event was "The Burgundy and Gold Standard", an accounting of Redskins history.

Fischer certainly played a major role in the story of the franchise.  He had a 17-year NFL career split between the Redskins and St. Louis Cardinals.

Three times in his career, Fischer was named to the Pro Bowl squad.  He had 56 career interceptions, with 27 of those coming as a member of the Redskins.

Fischer currently ranks fourth in franchise history in career interceptions.  He also set an NFL record with 213 games played at corner upon his retirement.
