Washington Nationals Slugger Bryce Harper Signs Record-Setting Endorsement Deal with Under Armour

There is no question that Bryce Harper wants to be the face of baseball.  He took another step towards solidifying his status as such this week, agreeing to a longterm extension with his top endorser, Under Armour.

The ten-year extension is believed to be the largest endorsement deal in baseball history.  Harper originally signed with Under Armour in 2011, but the company has grown exponentially.

This July, they will release Harper's first signature cleat, the Under Armour Harper One.  They now have three of their biggest endorsers locked up for the forseeable future, with reigning NBA MVP Stephen Curry signed through 2024 and the 2015 PGA Tour Player of the Year Jordan Spieth under contract till 2025.

Harper himself is the reigning National League MVP.  In 2015, he hit .330 with a league-leading 42 home runs and 99 RBI.

Overall, Harper is a three-time All-Star.  This season, he has led the Washington Nationals to a 19-8 first-place record with nine homers and 24 RBI.

Harper has been a baseball prodigy for as long as anyone can remember.  He graduated high school early, won the Golden Spikes Award in his one season at the College of Southern Nevada, and was drafted number one overall by the Nationals in 2010.
