Vanderbilt Football Coach Derek Mason Speaks at Touchdown Club of Memphis

Last night, Vanderbilt head coach Derek Mason tapped into one of the most passionate college football markets in the country.  He was the speaker at the Touchdown Club of Memphis. 

The club met at at the Hilton Memphis beginning with a social hour at 5:30 p.m.  Dinner was served at 6:30 and Mason began speaking at 7 p.m. 

Guest tickets for the event were available for $50.  Mason was able to talk about where his Commodores team stands with four more games left on their conference schedule. 

Mason is currently in his third season at Vanderbilt and has been working to rebuild the program.  After going 3-9 and 4-8 in his first two seasons, he already has the Commodores standing at 4-4 in 2016. 

Prior to arriving at Vandy in 2014, Mason was the associate head coach and defensive coordinator at Stanford.  He originally joined the Cardinal as defensive backs coach in 2010. 

Not only has Mason been a longtime college coach, he also coached defensive backs for the Minnesota Vikings from 2007-2009.  He played collegiately at Northern Arizona University.
