University of Portland Names ESPN Personality Hannah Storm Commencement Speaker

The University of Portland has tapped one of the biggest names from the sports broadcasting world to speak at commencement. They have bestowed the honor upon ESPN personality Hannah Storm

Storm will speak at the second of two graduation ceremonies at the Chiles Center on May 6th. The event starts at 3 p.m. will recognize Class of 2018 students from the Pamplin School of Business, the Shiley School of Engineering and the School of Nursing. 

UP will also award honorary doctorates to notable individuals at commencement. Tickets are required to attend and each graduate will receive seven tickets. 

Storm originally joined ESPN in 2008 and is most regularly seen as a co-anchor on SportsCenter. She has also hosted the primetime interview specials, In Focus with Hannah Storm and Face to Face with Hannah Storm

Storm was previously a host on NBC Sports' coverage of three World Series and four Olympics. She made history as the first female host of CNN Sports Tonight

From 2002-07, Storm jumped out of the sports world to serve as a host of The Early Show on CBS. Off-screen, she has served as a director and producer for several sports films and documentaries through her company, Brainstormin' Productions.
