The Tennessean Names Titans Running Back Derrick Henry Speaker for Sports Awards

Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry has been a key part of the franchise's resurgence. As one of the city's favorite sports stars, he should be well received when he speaks at The Tennessean Sports Awards this spring.

The event will honor the top student-athletes from the Nashville area. It takes place June 3rd at the Music City Center and is presented by Farm Bureau Health Plans.

Single tickets for the banquet can be purchased for $25 and four-packs are available for $75. Henry follows his teammate and fellow Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota, who spoke last year at the event.

Henry became a starter in his senior year at Alabama and had one of the greatest seasons in college football history. He broke an SEC record with 2,219 rushing yards on the way to winning the Heisman.

Henry also took home the Maxwell, Doak Walker, and Walter Camp Awards. He rushed for 158 yards and three touchdowns and led the Crimson Tide to victory in the College Football Playoff National Championship.

The Titans selected Henry in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft. This past season, he rushed for 744 yards and five touchdowns and helped Tennessee reach the playoffs.
