Texans Linebacker Brian Cushing Hosts Youth Camp Outside of Houston This Weekend

This weekend, the Kroger Unplug and Play Brian Cushing Football Camp comes to Conroe, Texas.  The two-day camp hosted by the Houston Texans star linebacker is also held in partnership with Crest and presented by SunnyD.

Any kids in grades 1-8 can pay a registration fee of $149 to attend the sessions at Conroe High School.  Included in the charge is a Cushing autograph, camp t-shirt, and team photo with the player.

Ever since a banner rookie season in 2009, Cushing has been striking fear into NFL offenses.  That season he was the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year, tied for the AFC lead in tackles, and made the Pro Bowl.

When the Texans made the playoffs for the first time in 2011, Cushing was named Team MVP and a second-team All-Pro.  Prior to the 2013 season, he signed a six-year, $58.6 million contract extension making him the highest paid middle linebacker in the NFL.

Houston made Cushing the 15th pick of the 2009 NFL Draft.  That came on the heels of a historic career at the University of Southern California that saw him play in four Rose Bowls.
