Stanley Cup Winning Goaltender Mike Richter Makes Appearance at Yonkers Mall

Stanley Cup winning goaltender Mike Richter started the holiday season off by making the dreams of some lucky fans come true. He made an appearance at the Cross County Shopping Center on Saturday, December 1.

Richter visited the pop-up skating rink set up in the mall for the season from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. He was able to sign autographs and pose for pictures with those in attendance.

Fans were allowed to bring their own memorabilia to get signed, but were only permitted to have one signed item and one photo. This appearance came on the heels of Richter's participation in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Many supporters have such an affinity for Richter because he spent his entire 14-year career with the New York Rangers. He is the franchise's all-time leader in games played and single-season victories.

Richter helped the Rangers win 16 postseason games en route to capturing the 1994 Stanley Cup. He was named to three All-Star Games in his career.

Richter represented the United States in international play and won a silver medal at the 2002 Olympics. He is a member of the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame and the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame.
