Soccer Legend Mia Hamm Speaks at Courier-Journal Sports Awards Next Month

The Courier-Journal Sports Awards Ceremony is the premier occasion to recognize the top student-athletes in Louisville, Kentucky. Soccer legend Mia Hamm will serve as speaker. 

The event takes place on June 12th at the Louisville Palace. It is presented by Norton Sports Health. 

Nominated athletes receive free tickets and general admission seats cost $37.50. Hamm should be able to share some great words with the area's best amateur sports stars. 

Hamm ranks third all-time in international goals scored with 158. She is also the third-most capped international player in women's soccer history with 275 appearances for Team USA. 

Hamm won two Olympic gold medals and two World Cup crowns. She won the first two women's FIFA World Player of the Year awards in 2001 and 2002. 

Hamm is one of two women named to the list of FIFA's 125 best living players. She is a member of the National Soccer Hall of Fame and the World Football Hall of Fame.
