San Antonio Spurs Fans Have Big Turnout at Rookie Boban Marjanovic Autograph Signing

San Antonio Spurs rookie Boban Marjanovic has become a big hit around his new town.  On Saturday, over 500 Spurs fans showed up at a local Wingstop for an autograph signing with Marjanovic.

The first 200 in attendance were guaranteed a signature.  People started lining up at 8 a.m. for the 7 p.m. event even though Wingstop said that they were not supposed to begin waiting until 3 p.m.

In addition to the usual memorabilia seen at these events, Marjanovic also signed a baby and a pair of cowboy boots.  After this weekend, there is no question that Marjanovic mania is alive and well in San Antonio.

The 7'3" center has been a force nearly halfway through his inaugural season.  While being brought along slowly, he is averaging 5.2 points and 3.0 rebounds in just 7.5 minutes per game.

Marjanovic has already had several breakout performances.  In early December, he was 8-10 from the field for 18 points in a win over the Philadelphia 76ers and he followed that up later in the month wtih a 7-7 shooting night and 17 points in victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Just two days after that win over the TWolves, Marjanovic also became the first Spurs player to ever record 12 rebounds in 15 or less minutes.  San Antonio signed the budding basketball prodigy this offseason after he was named Serbian Super League MVP three years in a row.
