Retired Running Back Marshawn Lynch Attends BMOC Career Summit

Everyone is aware of the deep investment that recently retired running back Marshawn Lynch puts in his hometown of Oakland, California.  Tomorrow, he will make an appearance at an event aimed at uplifiting the young people in the community. 

Lynch will be a special guest at the Boys & Men of Color Career Summit that runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Oakland Convention Center.  This free event is titled, "Invest in Youth: Pathways to Success".  

Young adults between the ages of 18-29 are welcome to come and pursue intervivews with employers.  There will also be unique experiences, activity centers and workshops. 

Lynch retired this offseason following a standout nine-year NFL career.  He made five Pro Bowls, four of those coming in consecutive seasons with the Seattle Seahawks. 

While in Seattle, Lynch ran for over 1,200 yards on four occasions and led the NFL in rushing touchdowns twice.  He was an essential part of a Seahawks team that became an annual contender and won Super Bowl XLVII.  

Lynch was originally drafted 12th overall in 2007 by the Buffalo Bills.  He played his college football at the University of California, where he was named a first-team All-American in 2006.
