Retired All-Pro Lorenzo Neal Speaks at GrandMa's House Annual Fundraiser

Several years removed from his playing days, former NFL fullback Lorenzo Neal is still making a difference.  Neal was the keynote speaker over the weekend at the annual fundraiser for GrandMa’s House in Visalia, California.

GrandMa’s House is an afterschool tutoring program for at-risk students.  Neal’s speech highlighted a program that also featured dinner and a silent auction.

Being from the area gave the opportunity to speak special meaning for Neal.  He starred at Lemoore High School before rushing for over 2,000 yards in his Fresno State career.

The New Orleans Saints selected Neal in the fourth round of the 1993 NFL Draft. He would end up going to four Pro Bowls and being a two-time first team All-Pro selection.

Both the NFL and Sporting News selected Neal as a fullback on the 2000s All-Decade Team.  Throughout his career, he was a key blocker for running backs like Warrick Dunn, Eddie George, Corey Dillon, and LaDainian Tomlinson

Backs running behind Neal collected over 1,000 yards in 11 straight seasons from 1997 to 2007.  After his 2009 retirement, Neal became a media personality, and can currently be heard on San Francisco’s 95.7 the Game as a morning co-host.
