Pittsburgh Steelers Cornerback William Gay Keynotes Men for Change Breakfast

Yesterday, men in Charlotte, North Carolina came together to stand against domestic violence. The annual Men for Change breakfast was held with Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback William Gay serving as keynote speaker.

The event also featured a silent auction and raised money for Safe Alliance. Gay's talk was moderated by local sports anchor Phil Orban.

The topic of domestic violence is deeply personal for Gay who had his mother murdered by a boyfriend when he was eight years old. He spoke about everyone taking a collaborative approach to fighting back against this issue.

The Steelers originally selected Gay in the fifth round of the 2007 NFL Draft. He has played every season of his career with the franchise except for one year away with the Arizona Cardinals.

Gay was a member of Pittsburgh's Super Bowl XLIII championship team. The following season, he became a starter for the first time and collected a career-high 78 tackles.

In 2010, Gay played for a Steelers team that went to Super Bowl XLV. He led the NFL in interceptions returned for touchdowns in 2014.
