New England Patriots Running Back Dion Lewis Keynotes Albany Police Athletic League Breakfast

Dion Lewis has found some NFL success and he was back in his hometown last week to give thanks.  He was the keynote speaker at the Albany Police Athletic League Breakfast.

The breakfast was held last Wednesday at the Albany Marriott.  Lewis discussed how the Albany PAL shaped his upbringing and athletic beginnings.

Hundreds were in attendance to hear Lewis speak and see multiple individuals inducted into the PAL Hall of Fame.  One of hte inductees was his Pop Warner coach.

Lewis saw significant time with the New England Patriots last year before going down with a torn ACL in week nine.  In week one, he accumulated 120 yards from scrimmage in his first-ever career start.

There were several games where Lewis became a dangerous receiving option out of the backfield.  He recorded two games with six catches and over 90 yards receiving.

The Philadelphia Eagles originally picked Lewis in the fifth round of the 2011 NFL Draft.  He was a standout at the University of Pittsburgh, rushing for 1,000 yards in each of his two seasons and winning 2009 Big East Offensive Player of the Year honors.
