Marshawn Lynch Pokes Fun at his Public Persona with new Pepsi Commercial

Sometimes an athlete does not even have to say much to be a commercial hit.  That is certainly the case for one of the NFL’s top running backs, the Seattle Seahawks’ Marshawn Lynch.

Despite his low-key demeanor and notorious media sessions, Lynch is one of the league’s top stars.  He recently joked around about his public persona with a new Pepsi commercial.

In the ad, Lynch has someone speak for him for almost the entirety of his appearance on camera.  At the end, he utters only three words, “speech mode boss”.

This is not the first time that Lynch has capitalized off of his unique personality.  He most famously signed an endorsement deal with Skittles after being a lifelong consumer of the candy.

On the field, Lynch remains one of the NFL’s premiere running backs and a pivotal part of the Seahawks run to two straight Super Bowls.  He has been the leading rushing in the postseason in both 2013 and 2014.

Lynch has four straight seasons of over 1,200 yards and 11 touchdowns rushing.  He has made five Pro Bowls since being a first round pick of the Buffalo Bills in 2007.

Prior to “Beast Mode” attacking the NFL, Lynch became the all-time leading rusher at the University of California.  He was also the Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Year in 2006.
