Los Angeles Lakers President Jeanie Buss Speaks at Santa Monica Rotary Club

Last Friday, the Rotary Club of Santa Monica scored key business leader from their local community to speak.   Los Angeles Lakers president Jeanie Buss was the keynote speaker for their meeting.

The meeting was held in the George Thomas Room at the Riviera Country Club.  It began with a champagne reception at 11:15 a.m. 

Buss shared stories from growing up in the family business and working around legendary basketball stars.  She also answered questions from the audience. 

Since 2013, Buss has overseen all Lakers business operations as president.  In addition to her current role, she is the team's representative to the NBA Board of Governors.  

Buss had previously been executive vice president of business operations for the franchise.  Throughout her Lakers tenure, she has been regarded as one of the most powerful women in sports. 

At the age of 19, Buss joined the family business as general manager of the of the Los Angeles Strings tennis team.  She also had roles with the Los Angeles Blades and the Great Western Forum before joining the Lakers.
