Legendary Basketball Coaches Bob Knight and Gene Keady Make Appearance at Purdue Alumni Fish Fry

When college basketball legends, Bob Knight and Gene Keady get together, the amount of baseball success in one room is almost incomprehensible.  Knight and Keady will be together next month in the state where both accrued the majority of their wins on the hardcourt.

The pair will speak to a sold-out crowd at the Purdue Ag Alumni Fish Fry February 6th at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis.  From 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., attendees will gather at the Elements Financial Blue Ribbon Pavilion to interact with the coaches and chow down.

The Ag Alumni Fish Fry can be traced all the way back to the 1920s.  Last year, the president and CEO of McDonald's Don Thompson spoke to the packed crowd of 1,600.

Knight amazingly won 902 NCAA Division 1 games, which ranks second all-time.  He became a legend at Indiana University, leading the Hoosiers to three NCAA titles and 11 Big Ten championships.

Knight was a four-time National Coach of the Year and also had head coaching stints at Army and Texas Tech.  In retirement, he served as a college basketball analyst for ESPN from 2008 to 2015.

Keady racked up 550 career wins, many of them coming during a 25-year run at Purdue.  His Boilermakers teams won six Big Ten Championships and made 18 NCAA Tournament appearances.

The six-time Big Ten Coach of the Year is honored with "Keady Court" at Mackey Arena.  Since leaving Purdue, he has had assistant coaching stints with the Toronto Raptors and St. John's University.

Both coaches are members of the College Basketball Hall of Fame.  Knight ranks first all-time in Big Ten victories while Keady ranks second.
