Kroger Holds Autograph Signing in Pennsylvania with NASCAR Driver A.J. Allmendinger

Kroger is holding a special thank you event for one Pennsylvania elementary school.  Maple Glen Elementary has been an active participant in the store's Community Awards Program.

Now, Kroger will host a special free community cookout at the school tomorrow, which will be highlighted by an appearance from NASCAR driver A.J. Allmendinger.  He will sign autographs from 4-5:30.

There will also be a variety of other family-friendly activities at the cookout.  Last year, MGES made $10,000 through Kroger's Community Awards Program.

Kroger signed up to be Allmendinger's primary sponsor last spring.  They had already worked with him as a car sponsor for the past six years at the Daytona 500.

Allmendinger competes full-time in NASCAR's Sprint Cup Series and runs part-time in the Xfinity Series.  He has 41 top ten Sprint Cup finishes in his career and one win, the 2014 Cheeze-It 355 at Watkins Glen.

Allmendinger boasts an array of impressive racing feats outside of NASCAR as well.  In 2006, he won five times in Champ Car and finished third in the season standings.

Following that year, Allmendinger ended his three-year tenure in the series and began in NASCAR.  He also has three top-three finishes at the Rolex 24 at Daytona, including a victory in 2012.
