Philadelphia Eagles Great Brian Dawkins Shares Motivational Message with Phillies Players

Countless people have heard the iconic story of "Rudy" first-person through the words Rudy Ruettiger. The next group that will be inspired by his presentation is members of the Wisconsin Specialty Cheese Institute.

Ruettiger will be speaking at the WSCI annual meeting on February 15 at the Chula Vista Resort. The entire program runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., but he will be addressing the crowd during the afternoon session.

WSCI members are free to attend, but non-members are also welcome for a $75 registration fee. The reservation deadline is Friday, February 8.

Ruettiger had a tough road to being part of the lore of Notre Dame football. He had trouble with dyslexia in school, joined the Navy after high school and spent two years working at a power plant before finding his way to college.

Ruettiger originally enrolled at Holy Cross, but finally found his way to Notre Dame and walked-on to the football team. In his last game, he got his first game action and was the first player to ever be carried off the field at Notre Dame Stadium.

Ruettiger's story was immortalized with the Hollywood film, "Rudy." He has written several books and is one of the most popular motivational speakers from the world of sports.
