Hall of Famer Aeneas Williams Named Keynote Speaker at the Missouri Governor's Prayer Breakfast

Over the last several years, Aeneas Williams has become an important leader in the greater St. Louis community.  We recently chronicled how Williams has been influential in the wake of turmoil in the racially divided Ferguson community.

Due to his role and notoriety as a Pro Football Hall of Fame defensive back, Williams has been named the keynote speaker at the Missouri Governor’s Prayer Breakfast.  The breakfast takes place January 7th and runs from 7:30-9 a.m. at the Capitol Plaza Hotel and Convention Center in Jefferson City.

Individual tickets for the event cost $35 and a table runs $350.  Proceeds benefit the Governor’s Student Leadership Forum on Faith and Values.

Williams is currently the senior pastor at The Spirit Church.  His work after football has been an extension of the counsel he provided teammates during his playing career.

As an eight-time Pro Bowler and four-time All-Pro, Williams commanded respect in the locker room.  He also helped the Arizona Cardinals win their first playoff game since 1947 in 1998 and went to the Super Bowl with the St. Louis Rams in 2001.

Williams finished with 55 interceptions and 12 defensive touchdowns.  In addition to his Hall of Fame honor, he has also been inducted into the Cardinals Ring of Honor and the St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame.
