Former South Carolina Star Marcus Lattimore Speaks at Easter Sunrise Service

Lexington County baseball stadium in South Carolina held a special Easter Sunrise Service this weekend. Former South Carolina football star Marcus Lattimore spoke at the event.

The service was held by Calvary Church Lexington. There were hundreds who turned out to worship and hear from Lattimore.

The one-time standout running back was able to share his testimony with the assembled crowd. He talked about the happiness and joy that comes with knowing Jesus Christ.

Lattimore holds a Gamecocks career record with 38 rushing touchdowns. He burst onto the scene as a freshman, rushing for 1,197 yards and 17 touchdowns.

Lattimore was named SEC Freshman of the Year, a first-team All-SEC selection and a second-team All-American. He also helped USC make the SEC Championship Game.

While he was hampered by knee injuries the next two seasons, he still was named an All-SEC second-team pick in 2011. The San Francisco 49ers selected him in the fourth round of the 2013 NFL Draft, but due to his injuries, he never played in the pros.
