Former NBA Commissioner David Stern Speaks at the Global Gaming Expo Next Month

The NBA has been one of the most vocal organizations as a whole advocating for legalized gambling.  Former commissioner David Stern will share some about the movement he started in the league at the Global Gaming Expo.

On September 29th, Stern will speak at the expo which is being held at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas.  He will discuss the future of sports gambling and how it affects professional sports leagues.

Stern will be joined on the stage by moderator and president and CEO of the American Gaming Association Geoff Freeman.  The event runs in total from September 26-29 and it stands as the largest gaming convention in the world.

Stern was commissioner for 30 years and led the NBA through unprecedented growth.  He saw the addition of seven new franchises into the league during his tenure.

Revenues skyrocketed during Stern's reign.  The NBA truly became a global game, with the influx of international stars and agreements to televise games in 215 countries.

Stern has a relationship with the NBA dating to 1966 when he began serving as outside counsel to the league.  In 2014, he was inducted to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
