Former Five-Time All-Star Steve Sax Speaks at February’s Wichita State First Pitch Banquet

A former baseball great is speaking at Wichita State's First Pitch Banquet. Former five-time All-Star Steve Sax presents on February 2nd at the Mult-Purpose Facility inside Charles Koch Arena. 

Dinner officially kicks off the evening at 6 p.m. Individual tickets cost $125 and table sponsorships for nine people run $1,000. 

Sax will be able to share great stories from his baseball career. The banquet will also serve as the perfect opportunity to introduce the 2017 edition of the Shockers. 

In 1982, Sax made a splash with the Los Angeles Dodgers, winning National League Rookie of the Year honors. He also won two World Series titles with the franchise and a Silver Slugger award in 1986. 

Sax also spent time in his career with the New York Yankees, Chicago White Sox and Oakland Athletics. He hit .300 in a season on three occasions and racked up 444 stolen bases. 

Sax is currently a baseball analyst on Sirius Satellite Radio. He is on the community relations team with the Dodgers as well.
