Former Boxing Champion Sugar Ray Leonard Speaks at Boys & Girls Club Fundraiser

One of the greatest boxers of all-time made his way to Branson, Missouri recently to contribute to a good cause. Sugar Ray Leonard was the special guest speaker at the Boys & Girls Club of the Ozarks Thanks4Giving Gala.

The event was held on November 10th at the Branson Convention Center. There were hundreds of people that turned out to hear Leonard. 

He spoke about working hard and being determined in life. Robinson also signed a pair of gloves after his presentation that he immediately auctioned off for $40,000. 

Robinson had a 20-year career in boxing from 1977-1997. He won a world championship in five weight divisions and was a lineal title holder in three classes.

During his tenure as one of the sport's greats, he beat fellow Hall of fame boxers Roberto Duran, Thomas Hearns and Marvin Hagler. He was named Boxer of the Decade in the 1980s.

The Ring magazine also named Robinson Fighter of the Year on two occasions. He is a member of the International Boxing Hall of Fame.
