Former All-Pro Linebacker Brian Urlacher Keynotes the ISJ Sports Stars Event

The Idaho State Journal held their Sports Stars event and was looking for the perfect speaker to address student-athletes. Former All-Pro linebacker Brian Urlacher fit the bill well.

The banquet was held on Tuesday at the Stephens Performing Arts Center. The second annual event was hosted by Idaho Central Credit Union.

Urlacher participated in a question and answer session. He shared several anecdotes about his career and how his high school playing days provided some of his fondest memories.

Urlacher spent his entire 11-year career with the Chicago Bears. He was elected to eight Pro Bowls and was a four-time first-team All-Pro.

After being the ninth overall pick in the 2000 NFL Draft, he became the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year. In 2005, Urlacher was named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year.

The following season, Urlacher helped lead the Bears to the Super Bowl. He ranks third in franchise history in games played and is the all-time leader with 1,779 tackles.
