ESPN Personality Jemele Hill Keynotes University of Toledo Event Saturday

The University of Toledo is bringing in a popular name from the world of sports media to keynote their 33rd Annual Conference for Aspiring Minority Youth on Saturday, ESPN personality Jemele Hill is speaking at the Thompson Student Union Auditorium. 

The event runs from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and it is sponsored by Toledo Excel and the UT Joint Committee. It is geared towards seventh and; eighth-grade students, high schoolers, parents and the community. 

The theme of the conference this year is, "Expectations vs. Reality: Exploring Gender Roles in Society." Reservations to attend can be made for free. 

Hill originally joined ESPN in 2006 as a columnist for ESPN.com. She has continued to grow her role and has become one of the prominent faces on the television side of ESPN as well. 

This year, Hill is set to become co-host of a re-imagined 6 p.m. edition of "SportsCenter." Since 2014, she has been the co-host of the sports discussion show, "His & Hers" on ESPN 2. 

Prior to joining ESPN, Hill was a columnist at the Orlando Sentinel from 2005-06. She covered Michigan State athletics for the Detroit Free Press from 1999-2005.
