ESPN Anchor John Anderson Speaks at Ball State University

This fall, ESPN anchor John Anderson was welcomed to speak at Ball State University. He was part of the school's David Letterman Distinguished Professional Lecture and Workshop Series. 

Anderson kicked off the slate of fall speakers with his presentation titled, "SportsCenter Stories: Good Stories, Great Writing and Do I Have to Wear Pants?" The talk took place on October 13th at 7 p.m. in Pruis Hall. 

Anderson's appearance was free to attend and open to the public. Everyone had a great night learning a little more about the inner-workings of the Worldwide Leader in Sports. 

Since 1999, Anderson has been at ESPN. He first started out as an anchor at ESPNews and can now regularly be seen behind the desk during the 11 p.m. weeknight edition of "SportsCenter." 

During his time at the network, Anderson has co-hosted coverage of the ING New York City Marathon and crossed over to ABC as co-host of the obstacle course competition show, "Wipeout." He joined ESPN after four years as the weekend sports anchor at KPHO-TV in Phoenix, Arizona. 

On his way up in broadcasating, Anderson also worked in the Tulsa, Oklahoma and Columbia, Missouri markets. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri's School of Journalism.
