Dan Marino Named Keynote Speaker at Rady Jewish Community Centre Sports Dinner

One of the greatest quarterbacks of all-time is headed to Winnipeg, Ontario to speak.  Miami Dolphins legend Dan Marino will make the trip to Canada to be the keynote speaker at the 44th Annual Rady Jewish Community Centre Sports Dinner on June 21st.

The event will be held at the newly-expanded RBC Convention Centre.  Top level tickets with a VIP pass to meet Marino cost $525 while other tickets can be purchased for $325 and $225.

Proceeds from the tickets and auctions at the event will benefit various programs for the center.  Rady JCC Executive Director Gayle Waxman remarked in a release that they were not only bringing Marino because of his notable football career, but also the work he does in the special needs community.

The Dan Marino Foundation was established in 1992 and has since raised $45 to fund autism research and provide a variety of other services.  Marino also remains impactful in the South Florida community as a business owner and special advisor to the Dolphins.

Upon retirement, he held 25 NFL records and still holds the mark for most 400 yard passing games in a career.  Marino's 61,361 passing yards put him third in league history and his 420 touchdowns rank fifth.

Marino went to nine Pro Bowls and was a first or second team All-Pro six times.  In his second season, he won the MVP, Offensive Player of the Year award, and led Miami to the Super Bowl.

In 2005, Marino was elected to the Pro Fooball Hall of Fame.  He was an analyst on the CBS Sunday pregame show, The NFL Today, for 12 seasons in addition to his other post-football activities.
