Basketball Great Lisa Leslie Speaks at KPMG Women’s Leadership Summit

KPMG is proud to support women at the highest level of athletic competition as the title sponsor of the Women's PGA Championship.  The tournamnet took place last weekend and in conjunction with it, they hosted a Women's Leadership Summit.

One of the powerful speakers at the summit was retired WNBA great Lisa Leslie.  She was a part of the afternoon session at the Wednesday event titled, "Achieving the Dream in Your Personal and Professional Life".

Fellow standout athletes like Olympic gold medalist Shawn Johnson, LPGA champion golfer Stacy Lewis and U.S. women's soccer star Megan Rapinoe joined Leslie.  The conference had a kickoff keynote presentation from former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. 

Leslie has one of the most decorated careers in the history of women's basketball.  She was the seventh overall pick in the inaugual 1997 WNBA Draft and went on to win three league MVP awards.

Leslie's 11-year career was spent entirely with the Los Angeles Sparks, who she led to two WNBA championships.  The eight-time All-Star also helped Team USA win four Olympic gold medals. 

In 2011, fans voted Leslie one of the top 15 players in WNBA history.  She is a member of the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame and Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
