Baseball Hall of Famer Hank Aaron Speaks at Young Harris College Commencement

This past Saturday, baseball legend Hank Aaron addressed the graduates at Young Harris College.  He was commencement speaker for the school.

Aaron spoke to the Class of 2016 inside the Young Harris gymnasium.  It was the largest graduating class in the history of the college.

During the presentation, Aaron shared some stories from his life and also advice for the future.  He has a great connection to Young Harris having served on the board and helping them get their baseball stadium built.

Aaron built one of the greatest careers in baseball history over his 23 years in the game.  He made a record 25 All-Star teams and held baseball's home run record for 33 years.

Aaron was a consistent power hitter, slugging 30 or more homers 15 times.  In 1957, the Milwaukee Braves were World Series champions and he was National League MVP.

With over 97 percent of the vote on the first ballot, Aaron was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1982.  He remains a great ambassador for the Braves and baseball and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2002.
